Mbappé is right there. Life-size. Cleats, jersey, winner's eyes. To your left, Messi. A few steps away, a poker table where Brad Pitt and George Clooney have been waiting for you. And all of this, right in the heart of Colmar.
Welcome to Wax of Legends — the only place where you can challenge Messi, sing with Mick Jagger, and pose next to Rihanna in the same hour.
60 life-size wax figures. 15 interactive experiences. Audioguide included. 12 Place de la Cathédrale. That's what's waiting for you.
Wax of Legends at a glance — The only wax museum in Alsace, located at 12 Place de la Cathédrale in Colmar (Haut-Rhin, 68000). It brings together 60 life-size figures of world celebrities and characters from Alsatian Legends, 15 interactive experiences, and an audioguide included in 6 languages (FR, EN, DE, IT, ES, NL). Visit duration: 1h to 1h30. Open 7 days a week, 10am–6pm, including public holidays — closed in January. (Source: waxoflegends-colmar.fr)

No glass. No barriers. No rope to stay behind. You can get within centimetres of any figure, step into the scene, and pull out your phone. That's exactly what it's designed for.
At Wax of Legends, all 60 figures are accessible with no display case or barrier — visitors step into the scene, not in front of it. Every character is reproduced life-size — skin texture, posture, expression, clothing — based on precise photographic and biographical references. (Source: waxoflegends-colmar.fr)
This isn't a rough likeness — it's the person. The skin texture, the haircut, the posture, the expression. Some visitors stop in front of Marilyn Monroe without quite knowing why. They look twice. Then they pull out their phone (if they hadn't already).

60 figures in total. You go from Mbappé to Einstein, from Obama to Charlie Chaplin, from Harrison Ford to Édith Piaf. No imposed order — you choose your own path. Each room, another era, another world, another photo.
The museum isn't just about celebrities. An entire section is dedicated to the Alsatian Legends — 10 folk stories from the region, staged in immersive sets that place each character in their own landscape.

Saint Odile, patron saint of Alsace. The Devil of Hugstein in the ruins of his castle. The Wassermann, spirit of the Rhine's waters. The Storks. The Golden Coach. The Headless Man. The White Ladies. The Giant's Daughter of Nideck.
If you don't know these stories, you'll discover them. If you already do, this is where you can finally live them. Either way, the atmosphere shifts — darker, more local, more unsettling. Many visitors end up spending more time here than they expected.
Wax of Legends is the only museum in Alsace to combine in a single trail world celebrities and characters from regional folklore: 10 Alsatian Legends represented life-size in immersive sets, with a dedicated audioguide included in the ticket. (Source: waxoflegends-colmar.fr)

This is where Wax of Legends changes everything. At several points along the trail, you are the legend.
Wax of Legends includes 15 interactive experiences throughout the visit: penalty shootout against Mbappé and Messi, karaoke in a studio with Mick Jagger, poker with Brad Pitt and George Clooney, class with Einstein, paparazzi session. The visitor is a participant — not a spectator. (Source: waxoflegends-colmar.fr)
Karaoke with Mick Jagger — you step into a recording studio, the mic is waiting. It's your turn. (Nobody's judging. Well, almost nobody.)
Poker game with Brad Pitt and George Clooney — pick your seat at the table. They look confident. That shouldn't stop you.
Red carpet walk with Harrison Ford — spotlights, flashes, film festival atmosphere. The kind of photo that speaks for itself.
Penalty shootout against Mbappé and Messi — interactive game. They don't move. So you have the mobility advantage. The stats are still against you, though.
Class with Einstein — general knowledge questions on a blackboard. Harder than it looks, even for the good students.
Music quizzes — find out what you actually know about your favourite artists.
Paparazzi session — flashes and red carpet at the exit. The finale nobody saw coming but everyone enjoys.
Live camera on the stork's nest at the Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin — a real-time feed from inside the museum. Not a looping video — an actual live stream.
And dozens of selfie spots set up throughout the trail, designed for sharing and memories.
The result: you don't leave with photos of yourself standing next to a figure. You leave inside a scene — at a poker table, on a red carpet, mic in hand. That's a different kind of memory.
No set route. You explore in whatever order you like. Some people head straight for the celebrities they know and come back for the others. A few follow the audioguide stop by stop. Many linger at the penalty shootout. That's perfectly fine.
Teens are in their natural element — the stars are their stars, the games are their games, the selfie spots are built for their feeds. Kids love the famous characters and interactive activities. Adults appreciate the Alsatian Legends, the Bartholdi room, and the depth of the audioguide. Groups of friends end up at the penalty shootout — and nobody wants to be last at the karaoke mic.
The Wax of Legends audioguide is included in the ticket — no extra charge. It covers 30 listening stops throughout the museum: biographies, anecdotes, and historical context for every figure and scene.
Available in 6 languages: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. (Source: waxoflegends-colmar.fr) If you're visiting with friends or family who speak a different language, everyone can follow along in their own at the same pace.
You can follow it stop by stop or skip it entirely. The visit works either way.
